Saturday, February 17, 2007 Dear Friends of James Gilchrist & Julie Sherwood, First we'd like to thank everyone who sent their well-wishes to us before we left town the first weekend of February to play in Leesburg, VA. We love hearing from you and while Julie was responding to the emails, etc., I was loading up the car with our musical gear and driving to her office to pick her up from work. But she printed them out and shared them with me (I think as we were entering the Lincoln Tunnel!) So thanks everyone for thinking of us and a HUGE thank you to Lilly and the folks at Esoterica for receiving us so well, making us so welcome, and we hope you enjoyed the musical theater selections we added to the show just for you! Thanks also to Irene, Jay, BJ and the Cassandra Syndrome gang for running sound for us and all the bands who performed on Saturday - the acoustics were great and we can't wait to hear the CD you recorded direct to the board - you rock! Finally, thanks to Patty and Mike McKay for the wonderful dinner we were treated to before we left town - I've long suspected that those who appreciate fine food suffered a tremendous loss when Patty DIDN'T open up her own restaurant...and that meal confirmed my theory! It's not a club, nor is it a coffeehouse, but the Creative Light Church serves up some amazing "feel good" every Sunday morning. For the 11 am service on Sunday, February 18th, Julie will be filling-in for long-time musical directors Kristin Mozeiko & Vincent Lebrun and providing the uplifting musical leadership the congregation at this Religious Science church is used to hearing. (Visit Creative Light's website at www.creativelight.org.) Together we'll be singing and performing during the service and we hope that those of you who are close to the church and looking for a truly enriching spiritual experience will join us!
PERFORMING SUNDAY, 2/18 AT 11:00 AM Julie Sherwood - Vocals, Piano Located at: Doug Alan Wilcox joins us this month as the first of many "New Friends" whose careers and websites we'll be highlighting in this and future Performance Announcements - hi Doug! Visit Doug's website and listen to his clips, especially if you are in the VA area. We heard him perform at Esoterica on Feb. 3rd and thought he was a great songwriter with a natural, James Taylor kind-of-feel. Doug, we've added a link to your site on our Links page - check it out! Look for upcoming performance announcements and news about a CD release party/full-length concert in Leesburg, VA, generously sponsored by a corporate party who at present wishes to remain anonymous (thank you - you know who you are!) Until next time friends, thanks for subscribing - and we'll see you at the shows! James Gilchrist & Julie Sherwood |
