It's our favorite time of year - autumn in New York! Cooler temperatures, changing leaves - now if only cooler heads could prevail in the halls of Congress...and the pundits would just - go - home. We've been enjoying a prosperous 2009 and we wish much health and happiness to all our close and distant friends as the time approaches when the veil between the worlds starts to thin. And speaking of thinning veils (not to mention spirits!), we'd like to invite you to TWO grand bashes in honor of the season. First, the very important (and 6th Annual) Samhain Witches' Ball & Masquerade on October 29th at Whoville Bar & Grill! Sponsored by our spiritual (& spirited!) friends, Pagans in the Pub, this Long Island tradition kicks off at 7 pm, with the always powerful celebratory ritual to begin at/near 8 pm, to be followed by a costumed party whose theme "Come As You Were" seems perfect to us, seeing as how in a past life (circa. 2004) our band Blue Knight performed for the 2nd annual Samhain Ball at Whoville! We'll be joined in strum and song by the fantastically talented Jessie Haynes and friends! That's right, yet another reason to get your spook on this year in Bethpage. Then, on October 31st we head south to our favorite North American "haunt" - Esoterica! Yep, for the first time we're going to crash this spectre-tacular store on All Hallow's Eve! Every year there is a Halloween parade right through the heart of historic Leesburg, VA, and Esoterica, the all-time New Age store of New Age stores, is right in the heart of it! So come by in the afternoon - we'll be doing a "teaser" performance at 3 pm - to shop AND get a psychic reading (we do every time we visit and they always tell us we'll be back...coincidence?), THEN catch the parade, THEN come back for coffee, tea, cookies and more AWEN! We'll be decked out in our Broadway-inspired costumes (Phantom of the Opera, anyone?) performing our personal favorites, from both our own folk/rock repetoire and the footlights of old B-way!
